5G Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) – Technology Outlook and Evolution
May 4 | 2 p.m. ET

With 3GPP Release 17, the 5G system is “learning to fly” and technology wise 5G will enable satellite based connectivity. But it will present a long technology evolution and the NTN will be further enhanced. Those enhancements allow the incorporation of more processing power into the satellites known as regenerative mode or will enable other airborne stations beside satellites and also enhance the interoperability of terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks. Combined with the trend of private networks, there are various options to incorporate NTN ad hoc networks into private networks. This webinar will discuss the technology details of 5G NTN and the technology evolution of “beyond satellite” on the long term path to 6G unified networks.
