Official AOC Nominations & Elections Committee Report for 2022 Elections

The following information contains the Nominations & Election (N&E) Committee’s tabulated results of the 2022 Election held during September 2022. The results have been validated and are being presented to the International Association of Old Crows Board of Directors.

Thank you to all those who ran for an office this year, the quality of the volunteers and their dedication to the organization really shows how fortunate we are to have such outstanding leadership available to us.

Also, thank you to everyone that voted!

Total members voted – 1,121
Percentage of Voters – 9.90%

At-Large Directors (eight candidates)

Haruko Kawahigashi – 30.95%
3rd Place – 24.62%

Erik Bamford – 72.63%

Tofie Mitchell Owen Jr. (1937-2022)

On Sept. 28, Col. Tofie M. Owen, USAF (Ret) of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away at home surrounded by his family. Tofie was the eldest child of Tofie and Amelia Owen of Gulfport, Mississippi. He earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, a MS in Research and Development Systems Management from the University of Southern California and was a Naval War College distinguished graduate. Tofie proudly served his country in the USAF for over 22 years as an Electronic Warfare Officer, completing over 100 missions in Southeast Asia.

Accuracy is of the utmost importance when testing a radar warning receiver and maintaining the highest accuracy of your test system is essential. We often focus most on developing offensive capability, but countermeasures are often overlooked and command & control systems are left completely vulnerable. Host Ken Miller talks with David Tilton and Dr. Nathan Hansen of the Electromagnetic Security Consortium (ESC) to find out how we can provide greater protection for critical infrastructure and military systems by improving our electromagnetic security against emerging threats. David and Nathan share how we can pursue new standards for electromagnetic protection, how to create more urgency around the issues and why industry and government need an entity like the ESC to increase electromagnetic security.

David Tilton is the acting executive director of the Electromagnetic Security Consortium. Dr. Nathan Hansen is CEO of the Conductive Group and Chairman of the ESC.
