The 15th conference of the Israeli Association of Old Crows (IAOC) was held on Dec. 21, 2021. The conference was hosted by the ELTA company on its Ashdod campus with 200 attendees from IMOD, the IDF and the EW industry.

During the conference there was a short but very moving ceremony in which Maj. Gen. (ret.) Shlomo Inbar was awarded the AOC Outstanding Achievement Award. Maj. Gen. Inbar, who is now 92, was the head of the IDF SIGINT Unit, the chief communication officer, the head of the IMOD R&D unit and the military attaché to the US among other positions during his long career. He was very active in the development of spectrum dominance capabilities, both in the operational and technological domains. Maj. General Inbar was very grateful and thanked the AOC leadership. He emphasized that he does not see the award as a personal one, but as a recognition to the entire EW community in Israel. He addressed the audience and encouraged the young men and women of the EW and spectrum community to keep advancing the Israeli capabilities in the field.

During the ceremony three more veterans of the EW branches of the IDF, now active in the industry and the association, received awards for their contributions.

Shooting down an aircraft or blowing up a target might not be the pinnacle of winning in future conflicts. Rather, sowing confusion among adversaries might be more associated with triumph on the battlefield, according to an Air Force official. (C4ISRNet)

After nearly two decades of conflict against technologically inferior and insurgency-focused adversaries, the U.S. military and the Army are honing their cyber training against more sophisticated forces. The Army, for its part, is moving toward a multidomain-capable force, which envisions the seamless integration of forces and capabilities across all spheres of warfare; air, land, sea, space and cyber, as well as the information dimension.
