The Association of Old Crows (AOC) recently updated our Code of Ethics and Non-Discrimination Policy. Please take some time to review those documents over the coming days. The Code of Ethics embodies the core values of the profession and its members. AOC does not and shall not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status in any of its activities or operations. When you represent AOC, you are expected to follow these policies and encourage colleagues to do the same. The next AOC Virtual Series webinar is this Thursday. AOC Raytheon STEM Student of the Year Scholarship A fundamental part of the AOC's mission is investing in the next generation of Crows. One of the most significant ways we do this is by providing the AOC/Raytheon Scholarship to sophomore and junior year college students. We provide two scholarships annually, each in the amount of $12,500. Do you have a child, sibling, cousin, neighbor, or friend studying in the fields of engineering or engineering technology? Encourage them to apply! Applicants must be Sophomores or Juniors in the 2021-2022 school year and must apply by April 30, 2021.
US Army Cyber Corps Warrant Officer Scholarship Program The Cyber Corps Warrant Officers Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support to US Army Cyber Corps (i.e., 170A, 170B, and 170D) warrant officers. Awards range from $1,500 to $3,000. To qualify, applicants must be a CW3 or under, demonstrate excellent promotion potential, be in the Cyber Warfare or Electronic Warfare (EW) workforce, have a minimum of two years left on active duty, and be eligible and accepted to attend a Masters or PhD program. Applications are due by March 31, 2021. We are delighted to confirm a return to Liverpool, our intended host in 2020, and are confident the new timeline will allow us to welcome international attendees to the show. All exhibitor bookings will be valid for the rescheduled dates. Across three days, AOC Europe will connect organizations and individuals from government, defence, industry, and academia to promote the exchange of information and review the latest advances in electromagnetic and information-related fields. Ahead of the live event, we are also launching the first AOC Europe Online Summit on Tuesday, May 18. Exploring a range of relevant topics, the digital agenda will feature industry-leading speakers across a number of interactive session formats. We are pleased to confirm that ahead of re-uniting in person later this year, we are running an Online Summit which will explore two main areas: The summit will feature presentations delivered by experts in these topics, followed by the opportunity for discussion. Further details on session content and speakers will be available shortly. The Online Summit will be held on Tuesday 18 May and will be broadcast live on Zoom. This event will set the scene for topics to be explored further at the in-person exhibition and conference on 11-13 October in Liverpool. Please note: Online Summit registration will open in April.

The Dixie Crow Chapter Chuck wagon crew, led by "Chef Roadkill," aka Mark Leslein, assembled on March 6 to feed the Habitat for Humanity crew working on homes #63 and #64 off of Hickory Street in Warner Robins, GA. The crew prepared and served over 32 volunteers. Dixie Crow Members in attendance were: Mark Leslein, Adam Delestowicz, Scott Wolf, Bob and Mary Thrower, Rodney Brooks, Ron Herpst, Debbie Koenig and Abby, our furry friend. Industry News
The U.S. risks losing control of the battlefield if it doesn't control the electromagnetic spectrum, according to the Defense Department. This range of frequencies is critical for communications, navigation, weapons, and more. (US GAO) The Army intends to field a first iteration of its MAPS navigation system on armored vehicles this year, as it pushes to begin initial production of a more capable version in fiscal 2022. (Breaking Defense) With limited and costly ways for a surface warship to physically take out an incoming anti-ship missile, the Navy has been pursuing more ways a warship could use the power of electronic spectrum to splash threats. (USNI News) With the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Rep. Adam Smith, referring to the [F-35] program as a “rathole” and news reports attacking the aircraft, the public is left to wonder about America’s newest fighter.
