PLAN NOW TO ATTEND: Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare (EMW) Systems Engineering and Acquisition Conference, September 20-22
Our adversaries are using ubiquitous and cheap technology to further develop cyber warfare as well as advance and proliferate electromagnetic spectrum capabilities. EMW is an operational approach to seizing the initiative across the electromagnetic spectrum (EMS). The goal is to combine EMW capabilities in the sea, air and land domains to generate enhanced combat effects. EMW, in essence, means leveraging the cyberspace domain and the full electromagnetic spectrum for both offensive and defensive effects.

INDUSTRY NEWS: Here Is the Secret Formula to Make Sure the Third Offset Succeeds
Wide-ranging advances in military capabilities by potential adversaries of the United States are driving a major reassessment of American power projection dominance. In broad terms, this reassessment is known as the Third Offset. This initiative primarily aims at overcoming competitors’ progress in electronic warfare, surface-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range cruise missiles, and theater ballistic missiles in order to preserve the power projection advantage enjoyed by the United States for the last 25 years. INDUSTRY NEWS: Offensive Cyber In the Street Fight
Cyber war is coming to the street fight. Just weeks ago, when the Army’s 1/1 Armored Brigade conducted both live and virtual wargames against a simulated enemy, the old-school treadheads had a revolutionary new ally: offensive cyber teams, with two to three specialists from Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER). Capabilities once restricted to national missions and strategic intelligence are now being attached to individual companies of 80-120 soldiers. In exercises, offensive teams moved up within eyeshot of the front line to attack enemy communications while the 1/1 soldiers fought the physical battle. (Breaking Defense)

INDUSTRY NEWS: The Mad Scientists at DARPA Plan to Crush Russia and China with ‘Swarm’ Weapons
The Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded Lockheed Martin and Raytheon a contract to develop ways to control swarming drones inside heavily defended airspace called Collaborative Operations in Denied Environment (CODE). Defeating so-called anti-access/area-denial (A2/AD) threats – such as zones defended by advanced Russian and Chinese built integrated air defense systems – is a top priority for the United States as the world enters an era of renewed great power competition.
