Mr. Berg comes to the AOC with more than 20 years as an EW officer in the US Air Force, including flight assignments in B-52s and EC-130 Compass Call. His white jet (training) tour was the USAF EW School in San Antonio (now located at Pensacola NAS), where he was both instructor and Assistant Director of Operations.
"At the EWO School I oversaw curriculum development and the refresh of the T25 EW simulator, so I was deeply involved in the content and currency of the EW School materials along with injecting the newest simulation technologies into our basic training device," says Mr. Berg.
His final military assignment was at the Joint Electronic Warfare Center (JEWC), an experience that gave him exposure to EW across the services, strategic plans and capabilities assessments and direct support for the EW personnel serving in the Middle East. During his tenure at the JEWC, he helped develop a new Joint EW Course to fill an identified training gap and turned it into a high-demand, joint-certified course that prepared folks for Combatant Command and Joint Task Force EW careers.
More recently, Mr. Berg has contributed to a number of other EW schools or pre-deployment training programs as a guest instructor: the Naval Postgraduate School, the NATO Staff School, the US Army EW School at Fort Sill and the Air Force Electronic Warfare Coordinator Course.
