Based on the overwhelming responses we received from last year, the AOC Capitol Club will host our 2nd Annual Professional Development Program for our membership on March 16, 2010.

The Israeli Chapter(IAOC) annual conference takes place March 18. The conference includes three classified sessions and will focus on EW and IW in the future symmetric and asymmetric war; the new challenges in EW in the air, naval and ground forces and information warfare &ndsah; new approaches and technologies. The conference is honored by the Israeli EW Forces and sponsored by Elta, Rafael and Elisra.

Sunday, March 21, 2010, will signal the start of the 35th Annual Dixie Crow Electronic Warfare Symposium held at the Museum of Aviation, Robins AFB, GA. This year's theme, "Moving EW Technology to the Forefront," will focus on requirements, intelligence, analyses and program status reviews from throughout the Electronic Warfare community.

The second annual AOC Capitol Club and Naval Research Laboratory co-sponsored Government/Industry Technical Interchange is scheduled for April 27 at the NRL. This year's event will bring together EW community members who are developing concepts and technologies for surface and airborne decoys and their application as countermeasures.

In Berlin, Germany, the global event for EW - held in collaboration with the AOC and strongly supported by European and international industry.

India is set to sign a $2.2-billion deal with France to upgrade its fleet of Mirage 2000 fighters ahead of an expected visit by President Nicolas Sarkozy later this year. (Indian Express)

The third F-35B Joint Strike Fighter landed at a test site in Maryland recently to continue necessary evaluations before it can be delivered to operational squadrons throughout the Marine Corps, including some at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. (Yuma Sun)

Naval Air Forces announced the squadrons that won Battle Efficiency Awards for 2009 in an internal message dated February 10. (NavyTimes)

The Defense Department has made its peace with social media. Long skittish about forums such as Facebook and Twitter, the US Department of Defense says that it is now OK with social-networking services and other interactive Web 2.0 applications. (cnet news)

The Air Force is considering additional Air Force Specialty Codes for intelligence officers that would let the airmen focus on specific skills and make it easier for the service to identify who has the skills for selected missions. (Air Force Times)

The US military monitored Planned Parenthood and a white supremacist group as part of the government's security preparations for the 2002 Olympics in Utah, according to new documents released by the Department of Defense. (Wired)

Electronic warfare and maritime surveillance are among the new roles being eyed for Raytheon's Astor aircraft, as designers look to exploit the inherent capability of the platform. (Aviation Week)

The AOC is soliciting papers for the 47th International Symposium and Convention, October 3-7, 2010, in Atlanta, GA, the theme of which is, "Electronic Warfare in a Changing Environment." Papers are due by May 31, 2010.

Each year the AOC membership helps determine the future direction of the AOC by electing representatives to its Board of Directors. Nominations for the 2010 election are now being accepted through April 21.
