The Pt. Mugu symposium is only two weeks away, January 26-28, held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Pt. Mugu Naval Base, CA! Also, there is an option to attend the unclassified day at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, January 26 only. The unclassified day only fee is $100 and includes the reception.

The first day of the conference is at the fabulous Ronald Reagan Presidential Library followed by a reception at the library. Attendees will have access to the library and museum all day long to include touring Air Force One which is on display there. This conference is in direct response to requests from senior military EW leaders and industry to address their issues in a strategic planning symposium.

Highlights of this conference include:

- the introduction of the AOC white paper on 21st Century Electronic Warfare by Robert Elder Lt Gen, USAF (Ret)

- DARPA, OSD, and service research labs in a hard hitting composite group focused on directed energy, cyber technologies, DRFM, sensors/shooters on the horizon

- ground breaking INDUSTRY composite group led by INDUSTRY on their concerns/issues with system standardization, platform integration and coalition interoperability

- long overdue composite group on leadership and workforce development across services as well as industry

- optional collateral session on counterspace and EW, Cyber and EW as well as Stealth and EW

The AOC's white paper on 21st Century Electronic Warfare will intro the following "21st Century Electronic Warfare" (21CEW) is a comprehensive review of the US strategy to ensure US military superiority across the electromagnetic spectrum. 21CEW establishes a common understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum and sets forth a strategic framework that orients and focuses DOD electronic warfare activities in the areas of operations, intelligence, acquisition, EW business processes and training..." Join us in Las Vegas for the Joint Electronic Attack Conference: AEA Operations Supporting Land, Sea and Air. Key topics will include data fusion, Net-centric operations, JSEAD transformation, AEA applications and threats to future air operations. Current operations and trends from warfighters highlight the conference.

In another step towards establishing a future-proof short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) capability for the United States and other Western Armed Forces, the F-35B Lightning II last week carried out its first in-flight STOVL operation at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. (Defpro)

US-built sensors that detect enemy sensors searching for allied aircraft targets is one of several new technology twists being developed for combat use in Afghanistan and Iraq. (Aviation Week)

Northrop Grumman has successfully completed electromagnetic emissions and interference (EMI/EMC) tests of an RC-12X Guardrail platform for the US Army. This is a key milestone in meeting a June delivery target for the first four next-generation airborne signals intelligence platforms (ASIP). (FlightGlobal)
